Hey team, I wanna show you something I vibe coded really quick before I started recording with Brian today.
Um, So this is called segments.
What I wanted was the ability to create a bunch of sections for our show with timers that we would then be able to go through.
So what you do is you say, OK, here's the introduction.
What am I gonna say? I'll say, uh, welcome to the show.
Here's what we're covering today.
You can give it a time, 5 minutes, ad segment.
OK.
And now we'll say I want to talk about um Transistor team retreat.
And we're going to give that 15 minutes.
OK, A segment.
Uh, the next segment for the show is going to be, uh, marketing ideas, and that's also going to be, that will be 20 minutes ad segment.
And then we'll do a section on hiring, 15 minutes, and then we'll end credits.
And we'll give 5 minutes to that.
So then once you've added all your segments, you can view it like this.
And um you can also generate a link which didn't work.
In Versailles where I could share this with my co-host so he could see this timer as it's going.
But when you start the show, It highlights this and says, OK, you're in this section here, the timer is going, and it'll give you a progress bar here as uh that section counts down and You'll get it basically helps you stay on track in terms of the topics.
If you finish this section early, you can just move to the next segment, and now we're on to this one and we'll talk about this for 15 minutes and then continue on until we get down to all of the sections and um finish the show.
I found this really helpful to for us to stay on topic and stay on track with time, not go too long on a on a particular topic because When we do that, uh, the show gets really, really long, like past 2 hours.
So this allowed us to kind of say, OK, what are we going to chat about? How much time are we going to give each section, and then, Let's finish the show and just keep things moving along and then, you know, finish this the show on time.
Don't bore people because we're going on and on about the same thing for too long.
Uh, so yeah, I think the best version of this would be if we actually built it.
Um, I just built it with VZero and, um, The best way would be that you can invite your co-host to add a segment for an upcoming episode.
You could have a schedule for like, OK, here's the upcoming episode, what are we gonna talk about? People could add ideas for segments, um, before the episode starts.
Um, but This basic, this is basically the, the tool and I don't know, maybe this would be a cool free tool for transistor or maybe it would be something that we could add as a free tool to our marketing site.
But yeah, there's something about this that was really helpful for a co-hosted show.
um, but even like, you know, like Joe Rogan could use this like we got here's what we're gonna talk about.
Let's make sure we cover all this stuff and, uh, get through it all.
So, yeah, cool little app I built, uh, just quickly with uh vzero
